On July 9, Lakers new players Ayton and Laravia officially made their debut, and they were interviewed at the UCLA Health Training Center.

Aiton said it was important for him to be in an environment where he could win. "I want to win, I want to be part of the victory heritage, I want to be among a group of winners. We want to win the championship now."

When talking about why we chose the Lakers to play, Ayton said: "This is a big stage that I cannot avoid." When asked about the great centers in the history of the Lakers, Ayton specifically mentioned Shaquille O'Neal, saying that he admired him since he was a child.

Ayton also said that since signing with the Lakers, he had a brief exchange with Luca Doncic, greeting the new teammate and expressed his greetings. In addition, Ayton responded to the criticism of him at the Lakers' press conference: "These criticisms inspired me... This is a unique motivation, and now is the best time."

When asked whether he thought he was the Big Three together with Doncic and James, Ayton replied: "I will leave this question to you (the reporter) to decide."

26-year-old Ayton was the No. 1 pick in 2018. Last season, Ayton played 40 games for the Trail Blazers, averaging 14.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, and shooting percentage of 56.6%.

When talking about why I chose to sign with the Lakers, Lalavia said: "I was judging which team is the best for me, where I can see my role expanding and the player potential can continue to improve. I think the training system here will be very helpful to me. And in terms of the team's lineup configuration, I feel that I can integrate seamlessly."

"I have always thought of myself as a very outstanding shooter... Playing with LeBron and Luca, I can fully display it by their side. This ability."

"I am very versatile on both offense and defense," Laravia also added, "can not only open up space, but also cooperate with players like LeBron, Luca, Austin without the ball. On the defensive end, as I grow older, I am also more capable of defending the opponent's strongest points. But I think I will integrate well into the team and become the 3D type of connecter player. I am looking forward to growing and improving here."

Laravia also talked about the reaction of his family after signing with the Lakers. "My dad is super excited. He grew up here, and all my brothers and I were born in Pasadena. My dad was a big fan of Magic (Johnson) since he was a child, so when he heard the news, he almost cried. Don't tell him that I said that."

Talking about his love for basketball, Laravia said: "I play hard - I go all out every night. Whether it's in or out of the shot, the only thing I can control in every game is to give that energy... I have always been the kind of player who never gives up any round. I just love basketball."

Talking about joining forces with another new player Ayton, Laravia was excited about it. "Did they call him DominAYTON (nickname Ayton, representing dominance)?"

Previously, the Lakers signed Lalavia for 12 million in two years, and the contract was fully guaranteed. Laravia, 23, is the No. 19 pick in the first round of 2022. She played for the Kings and the Grizzlies last season, averaging 6.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, shooting percentage of 47.5%, and three-point shooting percentage as high as 42.3%
