Portuguese center Neemias Queta, currently playing for the Boston Celtics, was recently interviewed by a reporter. He said in an interview that he had undergone knee arthroscopy after being eliminated in the team's playoffs in May this year. Keta said he had resumed training in early July and he will now return to Boston to continue his recovery and hopes to catch up with the men's basketball European Championships at the end of August.
Ketta said: My recovery is quite good. I have been facing knee problems for several years before. My team and I think it is the best time to have surgery. Now I am working to get back to 100%, we are very confident in this recovery process and I am very happy to be properly treated during this period. I want to make sure I am in good health and reach a full recovery and I believe I am on the right path right now.
In the NBA regular season last season, Keta made a total of 62 appearances, averaging 13.9 minutes, averaging 5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.7 blocks, 0.6 turnovers and 1.7 fouls, with a shooting percentage of 65% and a free throw percentage of 75.4%. In the playoffs, Keta's playing time decreased a lot. He only got four playing opportunities in total, with only 3.2 minutes per game, and his average data was even lower than 2.5 points, 0.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.2 steals, and 0.5 fouls, with an shooting percentage of 83.3%.
Katta performed quite well during the regular season last season. He also showed good scoring ability and offensive efficiency at the basket. He also had good rebounding protection and frame protection skills on the defensive end. His role on the court is also quite outstanding. He has therefore firmly held a rotational position in the team during the regular season. However, during the playoffs, the Celtics still chose to give other players more playing time and performance opportunities. In contrast, Keta's playing time also showed a significant decline.
However, this summer, the team's inside strength has been greatly reduced due to the Celtics' consecutive loss of three strong inside players, Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford and Luke Kornet, which will further improve Kerta's playing time next season. Previously, some media even said that Keta had the opportunity to become the team's starting center next season. For Keta, if he can use the next European Championship to build more confidence, it will be of great help to his performance next season.
